The induction programme for newly admitted BTech and BDes students will commence on 24 July 2024. This program is designed to help students acclimate to their new environment.
Registration and document verification for new UG, PG, and PhD students will take place on 22 July 2024 at the Conference Center, IIT Guwahati. Students should ensure to bring all necessary documents.
The hostel allotment list, IITG email-ID, and roll numbers for new students have been updated and will be displayed at the Main Gate reception counter.

IIT Guwahati has successfully retained its position in the top tier of the NIRF rankings for engineering institutions in India, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence.
About IIIT Guwahati
IIIT Guwahati has started engineering admissions for the academic year 2024-25. NTA released the JEE Main 2024 Session 2 result on April 24, 2024. Candidates can check their results on jeemainsession2.ntaonline.in. IIIT Guwahati admission 2024 for B.Tech is based on JEE Main scores and will be followed by a counselling process conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). JoSAA 2024 registration will start on June 10, 2024.
Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati is one of the 20 institutes of National Importance that was set up by the government of India. IIIT Guwahati was founded in the year 2013. It has recently moved to its new campus in Guwahati, 4 km away from the Guwahati airport. The IIIT Guwahati offers students with graduate and postgraduate degrees, i.e. B.Tech and M.Tech only. Other than these, IIIT Guwahati also provides the option of choosing a research programme, i.e. PhD programme. There are four different academic departments at the IIIT Guwahati which are taught across all the various courses offered at IIIT Guwahati.
The IIIT Guwahati aims to provide its students with sound knowledge in the technical field. The curriculum of IIIT Guwahati is designed in such a way that allows for the strengthening of the fundamental concepts of the technical fields. IIIT Guwahati also aspires to imbibe a spirit of research in its students. At the IIIT Guwahati, the students are subject to gaining knowledge and experience through the extensive teaching of their particular field. The students are provided with an experience that they can gain from inside the classroom as well as outside it.
The IIIT also promotes extra-curricular activities for the students to take part in during their stay at the Institute. They believe that along with the academic growth of the student, the other areas of a student’s life should also be given emphasis. The IIIT Guwahati Campus is well-equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure. The campus comes equipped with all the necessary infrastructure for the overall development of the student.

IIIT Guwahati Courses and Admission 2025
IIIT Guwahati admission completely rely on entrance exams for various courses. IIIT Guwahati B.Tech admission is based on JEE Main. The result of JEE Main 2024 Session 2 is released by the National Testing Agency on jeemainsession2.ntaonline.in. Besides this, GATE is accepted for admission to M.Tech admissions. Students must meet the IIIT Guwahati cutoff to get admission to this course. For example, students can get IIIT Guwahati admission to a B.Tech course if they meet the JoSAA cutoff based on JEE Main exam.
